About Me

Lee Buttitta

I’ve been practicing as a psychotherapist since 2019 in the volunteer sector.  I hold a MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and continue to advance not only my theoretical understanding but my practice through CPD.

I came to the profession via the voluntary sector during my final years of service in the armed forces. After completing a number of Psychodynamic courses, I came to realise that there was something missing for me. A one size fits all approach has never been something that I really agree with. So here I am, after a further four years studying and volunteering, a MA qualified Integrative Psychotherapist. I have a working knowledge and practical experience of cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis, person centred therapy and systems theory. Alongside you, we will integrate these in an evidenced based way to meet your needs.

I have a particular interest in helping service personnel and veterans who are struggling with their mental health but of course am able to assist all who find me. Also, as veteran myself, I have a plethora of experience and intimate knowledge of the stresses of armed forces life, which many other therapists don’t. If you require assistance in overcoming, accepting and acknowledging elements of service life, I hope you’ll reach out.

I am an Accredited Member of NCPS, (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and a member of the BACP, (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I belong to professional bodies in which ethics and confidentiality are key components. Honesty, integrity and compassion are cornerstones of my practice and I hope you’ll find my warm welcome works for you.
